To mark World Kidney Day, celebrated on 12 March, Diaverum Portugal will promote a wide range of free screenings aimed at identifying risk factors for Chronic Kidney Disease, reinforcing its commitment to prevention, early diagnosis and kidney health literacy.

The screenings will include blood glucose and blood pressure assessments, two of the main risk factors associated with the development and progression of kidney disease. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of early detection, since kidney disease can progress silently for several years and is often diagnosed only at more advanced stages.

One of the key moments of this initiative will take place on 12 March 2026 at Cascais Shopping, through Diaverum Estoril. This screening will be carried out in partnership with the Cascais Municipality / Health Department, strengthening institutional collaboration in promoting health within the local community.

The activity will take place in a high-traffic public space, allowing the initiative to reach a significant number of people and increase awareness about kidney disease risk factors.

We would also like to highlight the chronic kidney disease awareness activities organised by Diaverum Sertã, which will reach around 120 primary school students across three schools in Castelo Branco and Oleiros.

Prevention Means Care

Chronic Kidney Disease affects millions of people worldwide and is often associated with conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Simple measurements of blood glucose and blood pressure can make a significant difference in the early identification of risk situations.

Through this national initiative, Diaverum reinforces its mission to care for people and promote kidney health within the community, contributing to a society that is more informed, more preventive and healthier.

We invite the entire community to take part in the screenings and join us in celebrating World Kidney Day 2026.
