Diaverum Portugal was represented at the 63rd ERA Congress, held from June 3–6, 2026, in Glasgow, Scotland – one of the most prestigious international scientific meetings in the field of nephrology.
Participation in the congress provided an important opportunity to share knowledge, present research conducted by our teams, and reinforce Diaverum’s contribution to advancing kidney care at an international level.
As part of the scientific program, Prof. Dr. Vítor Martins presented two studies focused on assessing the hydration status of hemodialysis patients using bioimpedance technologies:
- BIA-MF Overhydration Status Pre- and Post-Hemodialysis Assessment: Are They Consistently Comparable (E-poster)
- Overhydration Status Assessment of Hemodialysis Patients – Comparison Between Two Validated Bioimpedance Devices (Focused Oral)

The research conducted by the Diaverum Sertã team, represented by Dr. Filipa Farinha and Dr. Luís Rodrigues, was also presented:
- Inverted Recirculation Rate (Krivitsky Qa) in the Agreement Between Doppler Ultrasound and the Nikkiso Inverted Recirculation Rate (Krivitsky Qa) in the Evaluation of Hemodialysis Vascular Access Flow
The study demonstrated a strong agreement between Doppler ultrasound and the Krivitsky Qa index calculated by the Nikkiso system, reinforcing the use of simple, reliable, and effective methods for monitoring vascular access flow in hemodialysis.
Diaverum Portugal's presence at the ERA Congress is a source of great pride for the entire organization. It reflects not only the technical expertise and scientific excellence of our professionals but also our ongoing commitment to innovation, research, and continuously improving the quality of care we provide to our patients.
We extend our sincere thanks and congratulations to all the professionals involved for representing Diaverum Portugal at one of the world's leading scientific forums in nephrology.
Together, we continue to advance knowledge and help build a better future for people living with kidney disease.
