At Diaverum, we believe that care goes far beyond technical expertise and clinical excellence.

Patient Experience is a strategic pillar of the organisation and a clear expression of our True Care concept, placing the person — not just the disease — at the centre of everything we do.

More than delivering high-quality treatments, this approach values the patient’s overall experience throughout the entire care journey, fostering closeness, trust, active listening and open communication between patients, families and healthcare teams. Every interaction is seen as an opportunity to build more human and meaningful relationships.

The importance of Patient Experience

Investing in Patient Experience means recognising that the active involvement of patients and their families contributes to a more positive experience of illness. This closeness supports treatment adherence, improves satisfaction and reinforces an integrated approach to care, where emotional, social and cultural well-being play a key role.

2025 in numbers and experiences

Throughout 2025, Diaverum developed 15 Patient Experience initiatives, including in-clinic activities and Outdoor Experiences, involving more than 800 participants, around 400 of whom were patients directly involved.

Within the clinics, six Open Clinics were held, bringing patients, families and teams together in an environment of openness, transparency and welcome, strengthening mutual trust and a sense of community.

Outside the clinical setting, Outdoor Experiences offered moments of social interaction and discovery, including visits to museums, exhibitions and cultural traditions such as the iconic Lenço dos Namorados. These experiences helped strengthen community connections, promote inclusion and create positive memories that go beyond treatment.

What truly makes the difference

The impact of these initiatives does not stem from large resources, but from the dedication, sensitivity and involvement of the teams. Each action, no matter how simple, became an experience with deep human meaning, contributing to improved quality of life for patients.

At Diaverum, caring means integrating, personalising and valuing each person. More than treating disease, it is about promoting well-being, strengthening relationships of trust and supporting each patient closely and continuously.

This is the true meaning of our commitment to True Care.
