Throughout the month of March, Diaverum clinics organised several “Mobility Weeks”, an initiative that was embraced with great enthusiasm and engagement across all 28 clinics, resulting in a highly impactful action for people undergoing treatment, their families, and our teams.
Over the course of the week, it was truly inspiring to witness how every team embraced this initiative wholeheartedly, transforming it into a genuine movement of information, closeness, and hope.
Maps on the walls, photographs, messages, and small visual elements brought the clinics to life and helped create an atmosphere of sharing and reflection. More than simply talking about holidays, the initiative brought the concept of mobility to the centre of the conversation: the possibility of visiting family, returning to one’s hometown, taking part in special moments, or simply making a small trip safely.
Life stories, postponed dreams, and long-held wishes began to take shape, showing that mobility can and should be an integral part of the journey of the people we care for.
Through clear and accessible information, it was possible to reinforce the message that no one is alone in this process: there is always a team available to support, guide, and help find safe and suitable solutions for each individual situation.
The results of the week were clear and highly positive:
- a significant increase in mobility and holiday requests, including international travel;
- greater participation in the “Let’s Travel Together” programme;
- a more natural and frequent discussion of the topic by the teams;
- better alignment of information between people in treatment, families, and professionals;
- strengthened collaboration between teams, driven by creativity and a shared purpose.
A special thank you to the social workers, nursing teams, administrative staff, and all other professionals who made this initiative possible.
More than just a themed week, this was an action with real impact, representing an important step towards integrating mobility as a natural part of care and quality of life for the people we support.
