On February 9, 2026, APIR (Portuguese Association of Renal Patients) carried out an institutional visit to the Diaverum Estoril Clinic, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the two organizations and bringing the Association closer to people with chronic kidney disease treated at this unit.
The agenda included a meeting between the Clinical Management and the multidisciplinary team of Diaverum Estoril and the Board of APIR, where the patient-centred care model was presented, along with the evolution of clinical indicators and the outcomes achieved. There was also an opportunity to present the clinical projects developed at the unit, which have significantly contributed to improving patients’ quality of life, their experience, and clinical outcomes. These initiatives reflect Diaverum’s ongoing commitment to innovation, humanised care, and clinical excellence.

Projects connecting the clinic with the community were also highlighted, including partnerships with Primary Health Care services and the Cascais City Council, through kidney disease prevention initiatives, health literacy promotion, and risk-factor screening activities.
APIR also emphasised the importance of direct contact with patients through regular visits to the units, the distribution of information, and encouraging patients to actively participate in the Association.
The meeting took place in a very cordial atmosphere and with strong institutional alignment, reinforcing the joint commitment of APIR and the Estoril Unit to defend the interests of people living with chronic kidney disease, ensure the quality of care provided, and achieve the best possible health outcomes.
