To mark World Kidney Day, celebrated this year on March 13 under the theme ‘Are your kidneys OK? Protect your kidney health. Get screened regularly’, Diaverum Portugal promoted free health screenings at its clinics and in the community during the week of March 10 to 17.

These actions focused especially on evaluating blood pressure and blood glucose levels, aiming to raise awareness about hypertension and diabetes as the main causes of chronic kidney disease.

The screenings took place either in the clinics themselves or in public spaces within each unit’s surrounding area, such as parish councils, municipal markets, and shopping centres.

Through this initiative, 1,038 people were screened, 32 of whom were advised to schedule an appointment with their local healthcare teams due to evident risk factors.

The screenings were organised by the teams of 26 Diaverum clinics, with the only exception being Diaverum Pombal, whose participation in the local Health Fair was postponed to May 3 and 4 due to adverse weather conditions.

We extend our congratulations to all the professionals who made it possible to celebrate World Kidney Day through this impactful and relevant joint initiative, reinforcing Diaverum Portugal’s commitment to health promotion and disease prevention.

We take this opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of regular screenings, risk factor control, and the adoption of healthy lifestyles.

Taking care of your kidneys is taking care of your overall health!
