The Diaverum Portugal Nursing Symposium, held on May 12 — International Nurses Day — brought together dozens of professionals for a day dedicated to knowledge, sharing experiences, and recognising the central role of nurses in renal care.

Under the theme "Nursing in the Transformation of Healthcare", the event, held at the Teatro-Cine in Pombal, also echoed the 2025 International Nurses Day message — "Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies" — emphasising the importance of investing in the well-being and continuous development of these professionals, who are true pillars of the healthcare system.

Throughout the symposium, current and relevant topics were discussed, such as health literacy, the impact of new technologies on caregiving, and the importance of communication and humanisation in nursing care. The programme featured contributions from both internal and external experts, supporting Diaverum’s mission to deliver renal care with clinical excellence and a strong focus on the human experience.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of awards to nurses who stood out over the past year for their exceptional contributions. Vera Miranda was recognised for her Commitment, Ângela Mosca for her Passion, Abel Pereira for his Competence, Cristina Ferreira for her Inspiration, Sofia Queirós for her Innovation, and Olívia Santos received the Career Award for her journey with Diaverum. These recognitions symbolise Diaverum’s pride in its professionals and its ongoing commitment to valuing its teams.

Events like this symposium reflect the culture of recognition and collaboration that defines Diaverum’s work in Portugal and around the world.

We would like to thank the Municipality of Pombal for their partnership and support in organising this event.
